Expedition Riders
#neergoesfar
We host a separate fat bike distro email list so that fat riders can find each other especially easy to hit the trails when the conditions and mood strike!
Gravel and fat bikes: we have incredible routes for you to enjoy the best mixed terrain the Cape has to offer! Various route distances offered from 30 miles to 100 km. Registration is open to all.
The 100 mile fat bike ride is a very event, it’s a very special ride that every fat bike rider should take on! It’s only available for NEER members so become a NEER member if you’d like to be able to register for this particular ride.
Camping option for group camping and enjoying time in between rides and days offered at a nearby campground.
We overlap a fair amount with the New England Randonneurs throughout “the season” due to our mutual desire for long distances, community, and love for all things bike! This is their last ride of the season, so we want to celebrate it with them!
It is important to be a RUSA member to attend (it’s for insurance reasons), but if you get your RUSA membership now, it’s good through the 2026 cycling “season”
Details are on the NER Ride Page
Look for us there before the ride, the big, red van is where you’ll see us! Ride solo, ride with a NEER-led group at an average 16-17mph pace for the duration, or ride with other NERs, do whatever you wish, it’s all good!
9am start
Details of the start location, distance and details are forthcoming. All fat rides are awesome and we have a bunch of great fat routes. Expect options of 2 hours and longer extension to add a few hours for those who have more time.
Details about how this is happening are forthcoming. Save the weekend and get your friends together!
Start/end in Hingham, MA
Route distances offered are 40 miles and 70 miles for a big day on the fat bike!
Open to all in this manner: if you haven’t ridden before with NEER, you’re welcome to join at no cost. If you’re a NEER member, it’s no cost. If you have ridden before with NEER but aren’t a member, then join NEER! (Insurance requires it, otherwise, this ride would cost a lot per rider.)
NEER’s sponsoring bike shop is Ride Headquarters. Ride HQ is based out of the Boston area, and Ride HQ travels all around New England and is likely to be in attendance at your next NEER ride. Want something for you or your bike? Contact Ride Headquarters (email: connect@rideheadquarters.com) and there’s a good chance you’ll get it at the next bike ride (they can bring stuff to the ride).
Ride Headquarters is the preeminent expert on gravel bikes and mixed terrain riding and spec’ing out the highest quality road, gravel, mountain, travel, and fat bikes to make your cycling even more fun and rewarding! Ride HQ builds wheels and their bike builds are second to none. Support Ride Headquarters by buying bikes to get even more fun rides on the NEER calendar. Ask for a demo ride to feel why so many people have a Ride Headquarters bike - they ride incredibly well and fit your criteria for what you want in your new bike since you get to define what it is, exactly, that you want.
